I didn’t know who to trust, and I felt scared and alone.

Who would know my intentions were pure, and who would try to shame me back into submitting to my old beliefs?

But eventually, I slowed down, and I figured a few things out:

  • I learned how to restore trust within myself after years of spiritual bypassing.

  • I reframed my definition of “community” and found people I could connect with.

  • And I found a peaceful path toward determining my own spirituality.

After a lifetime of being a faithful evangelical Christian and a career in Christian ministry, I was freed from the tyranny of a system that promised peace and never delivered it; from a community that called me “family” until I no longer served their purposes.

Since then, I’ve gone to a lot of therapy and grown a community of thousands of people on Instagram and Substack, giving voice to the complex feelings, discoveries, and turning points of life after evangelical faith.
