I was a poster child for Christianity, and I was miserable.

I loved Jesus and I loved church all the way from childhood into my career in church ministry. 

Then, in one day, I lost my pastoral job and with it my calling and my identity — and my willingness to pretend anymore.

I was crushed… and yet somehow, also freed:

  • I didn’t have to ignore my giant questions about God anymore.

  • I didn’t have to fake it to fit into my Christian community anymore.

  • I didn’t have to burn myself out to save souls anymore.

I set myself free, started hashing it out with God, and found that my spirituality doesn’t have to fit into anyone else’s label, doctrine, or mold.

Now, I’m reimagining what life could like like after faith: exploring how to make peace with my religious past, and moving on into a whole, healed, authentic future, and I’m helping others do the same.
